29/4/2007 U14 Wanderers 0 - Brackley 0Woodside finished their season off home at Brooklands in un-seasonal temperatures against Brackley. The quality of football may have not been at its best but the entertainment value and attacking football from both sides kept the large crowd warm.
With both sides going for the win it was not long before Wenborn (MOM) pulled off a string of quality saves, the best being a single handed push of a ferocious shot over the bar in spectacular fashion.
The “final squad” of Nichols, Dyer, Perrin, Culley, Pickering, Page, Gambrill, Bishopp, King, Lock, Foan, Wenborn & Holden played with a different system today with three at the back and usual defenders of Nichols and Perrin holding up the midfield ably assisted by the busy Holden. Perhaps with further games using this system it may work successfully however only time would tell
Overall a thoroughly deserved point was achieved with all playing their heart out for the retiring coach.
With commitment and enthusiasm shown today hopefully Wanderers will achieve next season their deserved prize of promotion to Division Three.
Coach Perrin would like to thank the Parents and Supporter’s who not only turned out today but all season in all weathers to show their support for Wanderers – the last four seasons have been an personally a very enjoyable period. Good luck for next season lads.
THANK FOR YOUR FOR YOUR GREAT SUPPORT – THE BOYS GREATLY APPRECIATE IT
