TRAINING ON TUESDAY 31 JULY 2007

Danny will be running a training session for the U16 A and B teams on Tuesday evening 31 July from 7pm to 9pm at Mentmore Road playing fields in Linslade.

Please note: as quite a few people are away, it's possible the session may finish slightly earlier than 9pm depending on how many people are able to attend.

STEEPLE CLAYDON MATCH REPORT

Woodside B closed their season with a closely-fought battle against promotion-chasing Steeple Claydon.

The Blues competed well against a strong visiting side but were unable to apply a cutting edge. Matt Marchant went close to scoring on three occasions and other chances fell to George Wardle, Matt Sharman and Jamie Arscott-Smith. Striker Wardle and midfielder Robbie White both impressed with their determination and positive attitude.

It’s been a challenging season for the B team after circumstances dictated a large number of changes to the squad last summer. The players, new and old, deserve great credit for the tremendous effort they have put in and for never giving up in the face of some stiff tasks. Manager Danny Hoare's enthusiasm has been infectious - he has done a superb job and has never stopped encouraging the boys. Huge thanks also to Phil Gregory who has given up his time to help run training, run the line, etc., and to Talban Sohi who has refereed our home games to a very high standard.
